Kilmokea Country House
Kilmokea Country House is a grand Georgian house built in 1794 and a member of Hidden Ireland which is a unique collection of historic private houses offering the very best and most stylish Irish country house accommodation.
Kilmokea is a former rectory and has been lovingly restored by its owners and stands amidst 7 acres of heritage gardens on the banks of the River Barrow.
Formal-walled gardens lead from one design feature to the next, the Italian loggia and pool with its fine stone pillars, the quarter garden brimming with Iris and Roses and on to the ‘old English’ style herbaceous border.
A heavy wooden floor leads you into the woodland garden, the perfect environment for Rhododendrons, tender Camellias, Eucryphias, Magnolias and Echiums, the giant borage closely associated with Kilmokea.
The Pink Tea Cup Cafe in the Conservatory serves lunch from 12 noon with children's menu available.
It includes children's play area with toys, books and colouring pens.
