Imagine Arts Festival

The Imagine Arts Festival is held annually in October and serves as a platform for local talent and a showcase for international artists. It provides an opportunity for everyone to experience and participate in a broad range of creative arts in the city.
 
The festival is run by a voluntary group of arts workers and supporters of the arts. Established in 2002 it has gained a reputation for innovative programming and quality work. The festival is Waterford’s arts festival and aims primarily to please the local market but also has a very positive reputation for looking after visiting artistes and cultural visitors alike. Imagine has a part-time administrator and she is based at City Council offices and this is part of the support the City provides for the festival. Other funders include Waterford Youth Committee who support the children’s workshop and performance programme.

 The Committee meets fortnightly throughout the year and partners with many local organisations and venues to enable the comprehensive programme to take shape.  The festival aims to showcase local talent and new work while bringing in the best of national and international acts.
