1848 Tricolour Celebration

This annual event commemorates the first unveiling of the Irish Tricolour flag by Thomas Francis Meagher in Waterford City in March 1848. It also serves to re-enforce the, largely forgotten, peaceful symbolism of the flag and recognises the vision and courage of Thomas Francis Meagher, a man who displayed deep personal commitment to the people of Ireland.
